12 February 2013 At the closing ceremony for the 2013 Information Online Conference in Brisbane, Australia, awarded free registration to 2015 Information Online Conference from the Australian Library and Information Association for “contributions over a number of years” as a “thought-leader and mover and shaker” who asks “colleagues and our industry to look at ourselves, to look at change and to challenge our thinking”.

September 2011 Mellon Fellowship administered by Roy Rosenweig Centre for New Media and History at George Mason University, Virginia to attend THATcamp Australia

February 2011 George Buick Award for academic excellence in an Information Studies higher degree research project, Curtin University

8 May 2009 – Recipient of the Jean Arnot Memorial Fellowship,  awarded to a female librarian or female student of librarianship for an outstanding original paper of no more than 5000 words on any aspect of librarianship for the paper, Why Learning about emerging technologies is part of every librarian’s job (WORD doc).

23 December 2008 One of six finalists in the Australian Library and Information Association Information Online Excellence Award

5 December 2008 Awarded the Nada Nadanasabapathy Library Innovation and  Outstanding Service Award , Murdoch University Library

20 November 2008 Awarded the 2008 VALA Travel Scholarship to travel to the United States to investigate alternative discovery layers and Open Source Library Management Systems .
